Pattaya Golf - Siam Country Club

Formerly a tapioca and pineapple plantation, the site includes rugged ravines bisecting its Paspalum fairways and mature trees augmented by ground cover and plantings. The Plantation Course also features significant elevation changes that result in expansive views of the beaches of Pattaya and the Gulf of Thailand, approximately seven miles away.

Siam Country Club is without doubt one of the finest and most difficult courses in Thailand. Set in lovely country in low hills behind Pattaya, the course is well-established and has masses of mature trees and shrubs. Long, straight driving is required to negotiate the often narrow fairways. Dotted with many bunkers and water hazards, the course boasts several dramatic holes, particularly the last four. The home hole is a long, dog-leg par five, uphill towards the rather unusual clubhouse.

This course spreads its fairways up and down this hilly region. Most of the greens have various slopes and bunkers are large. You do not find any rough on this course, you are either on the fairway or under the trees. A lot of trees surround the fairway and remain you to stay on it. This par 72 course is 7016 yards from the champ tee, 6448 yards from the white tee and 5885 from the red tee.

The golf course and clubhouse have been completely renovated and officially open again on 14 May 2007. The renovation of the golf course had kept the same layout but completely rebuild the rest of the golf course from tee to green with a wall to wall cart path. The renovation works bring Siam Country Club to a truly international championship standard and one of the Thailand’s best. The clubhouse facilities have also received a completely face-lift to a new modern, relaxing atmosphere overlooking the 18th green. To commemorate this remarkable renovation, the name of Siam Country Club has now changed to Siam Country Club Pattaya Old Course.
